So this was sort of an event for me personally. I want to make it clear however, right up front that I'm a lover of food. Not just expensive food. Do I love haute cuisine and fine dining? You bet I do. But, that's not everything. One of my favorite simple foods is a nice, lengua taco with simply chopped onions, cilantro, queso fresco, and maybe some green sauce. I also go nuts for classic hot dogs. OK? I don't want people to think that I only go for the high end stuff. I love all types, and as I grow the site, I'll certainly be covering the every-day kind of places I go to as well. I'm not a food-specific blogger, so that might come a bit more slowly. Street cred established. Haha
But this is about my first ever 3 Star Michelin restaurant. For someone that has done fine dining in over 10+ countries, this IS exciting. And it was even cooler to be able to have Le Bernardin be my first one. New York. Classic French technique. Seafood. And Bourdain's buddy. Sounds like a recipe for success. Woof, I apologize for just writing that. I'm going to leave it, as I believe in learning from the past. But wow that was terrible! (OK...MAYBE it was on purpose...a bit)
Food is such an important part of wandering. You enjoy food with friends, loved ones, family, and new connections. I think food really adds to any kind of trip that you take, even if you're local. And it's no different in this case. There was just so much to look forward to here. I had something to celebrate, I had a lovely person to celebrate with, and it was a famous restaurant in a famous city. What did I think?
Well luckily for my fellow Wanderers, I wrote a full review of the restaurant. Check it out, here: Le Bernardin Review
