Summer Worthy Travel Clothes From Western Rise
Ahhhhhh summer is here! Wait, no it’s not. It’s early June. Well the world is sending Summer weather early then, guess that’s 2022 for ya. No matter, it doesn’t really make a difference what the season is where you live - only what the weather is where you’re traveling to. So here we’ve got a solid list of Summer-ready (or any warm weather, really) travel clothes that will help you stay comfortable, but still look good with a minimalist style (no baggy, zipper pants here, folks). On top of that, we all get to enjoy my “influencer” photos. Who’s not excited for THAT?
This is my list of the best summer travel clothing from Western Rise.

The Pants.
The Evolution Pants 1.0 - For the fabric nerds out there, these will be techy enough for you. We’re talking a special version of Supplex nylon that is air texturized into dense fibers that remain light. For the non-techy fabric people, this just means you’re getting a very lightweight fabric that feels soft to touch, stretches, is durable enough to hike in, and packs down small in your bag. Throw in DWR coating on this to repel dirt, small spills, and light rain, you have a winner for travel. Putting my money where my mouth is - I have two pairs and they are both coming with me on an upcoming Safari in Tanzania.
The Shirt.
The Limitless Merino Shirt - This could be the only button down you bring for a 3 day trip. Five day trip? Bring 2, alternate, and you’re done. It’s styled like an oxford but made of mostly merino so comes with the ability to breathe, wick moisture, regulate temp, and most importantly - resist odor. You need that in a multiwear. This shirt is perfectly happy with pants and sneakers around town or in a coffee shop. Or, more dressed up for dinner which is how I use it when I travel. It won’t smell after your first wear like a lot of cotton will. And even if it does a little, it can re-charge over night in most cases. I paired it with the Diversion pants on a trip to Rome but for summer, it fits perfectly with the Evolutions above.
The Shorts.
The Boundless Shorts. Something we harp on around here is versatility in our travel kit. When possible, you want items that can do double duty on your trip. Take less stuff. The Boundless shorts help you do just that. A do-it-all item, they legit cover off on your day-to-day around town adventuring tasks while also being suitable to exercise in or even swim in. I’ve got a beef with most athleisure items out there billing themselves as looking like regular pants or shorts or whatever. In person, most don’t. These pretty much do! I have the Sand color and they just kind of look like khaki shorts while wearing with a button down for a casual dinner. But I wore them all day in DC while it was scorching recently. Held up great and they deal with sweat well, too. Plus because they are swim-ready you could really get back to your hotel and just jump into the pool. Or the ocean. Or a river on a hike. Then I wore them to said casual dinner. Again - WITH ONE PAIR OF SHORTS. Minimal and versatile at the same time. Lastly, the updated versions are a bit shorter for a more modern look.
The T-Shirt.
The Session T-Shirt. We’re talking Summer here, and that means lightweight. How about a shirt that has two minimalist colors you can “capsule” with nearly everything, weighs absolutely nothing, and can do exercise, around town, or sleeping? This is your huckleberry. Western Rise has just updated this as well to be more of a traditional sleeve pattern vs. raglan sleeve, which means it looks less like an athletic shirt and more like an every day tee. A win in my book. Crazy light Japanese fabric with some odor resistance due to the nature of the material - you can wear this on your run or while photo-hunting around South East Asia. Sweat be-damned, this thing breathes and you can barely feel you’re wearing it. No joke.
The Exercise Kit.
The Movement Shorts. For those exercise freaks out there that like to work out when traveling, Western Rise has you covered here, too. The Movement Shorts are designed to be perfect for those runs, weights, or yoga sessions - but be flexible and quick dry enough to be swim trunks, too. Perfect for that run you’re about to take to the Monument and back. That’s what runners do in DC right? (Don’t worry Internet, that stretch is just a joke).
Get Back Out There!
People love summer travel and with good reason. Warm weather, open-air restaurants, driving with the windows down. While the world isn’t fully opened, for those that can travel you’ve got more options this year than you’ve had in years. You can look to Western Rise to help get you outfitted for Summer travel - but take a smaller bag. Who doesn’t want that? Check them out in your search for optimized summer travel.
