Re:Form Carry Wallets Review
Reviewing both versions of their techie dream wallets, for both EDC and travel.
Re:Form Carry Wallet Review Introduction
Re:Form - style over function right down to the name? Well that’s what we’re here to find out. I’m getting more into different wallets and I’ve rbeen a frequent buyer of Bellroy for over a decade (also made a best of list for Bellroy travel accessories). So I’m excited to get into this brand.
Re:Form is focused - for a long time, they just focused on their wallets - one with a coin pouch and one without. It’s high tech fabric paired with modern minimalism to make you carry long lasting but not loud. It’s a great target for a purpose. This shouldn’t surprise from a German brand. I always find these brands to be quite considered in both areas.
This is my review of the Re:Form wallet, both the coin pocket version and the card holder. As background, I’ve been using them in my day to day since November 2025. No, really. I’ve also been using the coin pouch version for travel and recently took it on a trip where my feet touched 8 different countries (including Frankfurt, shout out Germany) through Asia. Safe to say, lots of coins.
For full transparency as always - I purchased both of these wallets with my own money, and had no contact with Re:Form regarding this review. Re:Form Wallets Overview
Closeup of the Special Material
Re:Form isn’t screwing around on this one from a technical standpoint. It’s meant to be as minimal as possible while remaining well engineered and modern. It starts with the material.
The company brands this tech nerd’s dream fabric as Re:Fine (they also clearly love syntax). It’s composed of (get ready, it’s a mouthful) - custom chlorosulfonated polyethylene synthetic rubber. That’s a real thing. But the purpose of these wallets beyond looking sleek and not taking up space is to also be made from a material that withstands damage to things like water, UVlight, extreme temps, and even chemicals.
For the Card Holder - it’s designed to hold 6-9 cards. For the Coin Sleeve - 4-6. You lose a bit on the capacity for obvious reasons as you need to make room for the pouch.
Speaking of that pouch - it’s implemented in a way where it doesn’t add too much thickness. Physics is physics, it’s going to add thickness, especially depending on what you put in it. But, they worked hard to keep it sleek. It’s also got a real metal “squeeze to open” mechanism. Think like those old funny coin pouches of like, animal faces from back in the day. Except cool. Get me?
So these things are waterproof and crazy durable (listed as 10x stronger than leather, which is nuts since I’ve never ripped a leather wallet). They also have really satisfying magnetic closures. This is designed to ensure they stay closed.
They are basically seamless, using internal bartack where needed, and they even keep the lone branding (which can barely be seen) inside. There is no external branding here.
The Coin Sleeve retails for $99.00 USD and the Card Holder for $89.00. Both only come in Black. Ideal for ninjas.
For clarity - I’ve got the following fake credit cards in each wallet for the article pictures:
8 in the Card Holder
5 in the Coin Sleeve
7 in the Peak Design Wallet as the reference piece.
This mirrors my EDC or travel set up with my real cards.
The Good
Fantastic tech material vibe here. Straight up, that’s what they promise and that’s what they deliver. It’s not going to be for everyone, but it delivers on the promise. The feel is rugged and almost rubbery (not like normal rubber) and has an almost external tack to it. It feels ridiculously durable, though there’s no real way to know that in every day testing until Father Time comes for all our wallets later down the road. Good use of bartack on reinforcement points.
I liked that I was able to fit all my cards in the Card Holder, no problem and it never felt over worked or over stuffed. It didn’t affect the usability at all and was fantastically slim. Loved that.
For the Coin Sleeve, I truly ended up loving that addition. I found that the cards I could keep in it dropped, but the added functionality of the pouch overruled it for me. When I was in Asia, it’s still a place that used cash in many ways. Even in a place like Japan. You will find yourself using cash at some point and that means coins. So, it came in very handy for that. Nothing in my front pockets jingling away. Also, since I wasn’t holding keys or anything like that in there, I used that same pouch for folded bills. In reality, I found this to be better in use than the Card Holder. I found myself limited with bills on the Card Holder. So something to think about there.
But, I kept reaching for the Coin Sleeve even if it was SLIGHTLY bulkier. Please do note “slightly”. It was barely noticeable in practice. I am a back pocket wallet user, FYI.
Magnets, how… OK no I’m not going to steal the man’s thing. But we all like magnets. And these are SNAPPY and awesome. Love ‘em on here.
The Bad
For the Coin Sleeve, I found I had to make some choice about which cards I took. I couldn’t take my full lineup. And being up front, I’m already pretty minimal on what I take. But, I do have a few metal cards and this changes the physics. I dropped from 7 overall to 5 overall in order to accommodate the changes for the coin pouch.
For the Card Holder, it was the opposite. Fit all my normal cards in my minimal set up just fine, but I found I didn’t love carrying bills. I just folded them in quarters and then put them in the outside slip pocket (which is also where I kept my building NFC key).
Those were the only two real pieces of critical feedback I had from use. Looks are subjective - and I don’t think your Classic Gentleman leaning style guy is going to like this. But for tech forward people, EDC nerds, and fabric nerds, you’ll like it.
This material can get a little fuzzy. Not an issue for me, but I’m noting it so I’m not looking like I’m glazing this thing. By nature and it being a rubber like material, this will happen.
Final Thoughts On My Re:FormWallet Review
This is definitely one of the techier wallets I’ve had in my possession, and frankly I’m here for it. I’m all about slim wallets that don’t take up much space, but still allow for a couple choices of cards and the important stuff (like ID, etc.). We need less and less cards as the days go by, and this helps stay super slim. Sitting on bulkier wallets is actually horrific for people. And since I’m not a front wallet guy (I’m short, so it doesn’t work as well because the pockets are proportionally smaller and it doesn’t hide as well as someone that’s taller) - these slim wallets are my huckleberry.
The Re:Form wallets are bullet proof, seemingly. I have no concerns about durability. And I found the coin sleeve was outstanding for coins AND cash. Fantastic.
I also think the price is fair. Tech materials, development, smaller supply chain - those are the economics of scale, folks. This kind of thing costs more. If you want a $10.00 wallet because you see them on Amazon, that’s totally OK - but don’t go claiming it’s the same thing. It’s not. Some people value the journey behind a niche product like this. And if you want it to be, I can absolutely see this being a BFL product.
And if that’s you - then the Re:Form wallets are a fine choice. Give them a look for sure, I will most likely keep the Coin Sleeve as my EDC and travel wallet for the foreseeable future as of June 2026.
I recommend looking to buy from Re:Form directly.
