Best Branded Packing Cubes

Our next installment on packing cubes (for now). Here’s a list of some of our favorite and best branded packing cubes - the ones from the high end bag wizards..

Best Branded Packing Cubes Introduction

After writing my Packing Cube Comparison article a couple of years ago and that getting a lot of love - I thought it would be worthwhile to put out another that is updated, but this time focusing on only Branded Cubes. So, the cubes that the boutique bag companies we know and love are putting out as accessories. Figure that would be fun and helpful. After this, I’d like to also do a budget packing cube round up. But for now, we’re going to focus on the Brands! For a more feature by feature comparison style article, check out the link above for that.

I’ve had a lot of cubes come across my desk over the years (I don’t really have a desk like that, I’m not a news agency, but that just felt right; when something feels right, just go with it OK?) and sometimes folks are just looking to get some quick snippets and thoughts on a lot of cubes. I can help with that.

So we’re going to quickly overview and provide thoughts on Evergoods, Bellroy, the newest Peak Design, Aer, and Heimplanet. I think that should be plenty for this round!

As always for full transparency, the packing cubes covered here were purchased with my own money, aside from Bellroy which were provided when I reviewed a bag. This is not a sponsored article. I do use affiliate links which help to support the site if you decide to use them to make a purchase, but you’re under no obligation to do so and there’s no additional cost to you. Thanks for stopping by!

-Need travel insurance? As an American, our health care system is complicated and your regular insurance might not cover you abroad. For international travel, I’ve been using World Nomads for years. They have adventure packages that cover most hiking and even ice hockey. Be sure to read all the coverage information (it’s laid out very well on the site) to make sure it’s right for you, but be sure to give them a look. I find their rates quite competitive and the quotes are free! -

Best Branded Packing Cubes Overview

So why make this article? Honestly I think there are just SO many packing cubes out there that I felt like I could help to make some sense out of the chaos of looking online. I mean packing cubes aren’t exactly the most complicated of products - so I think a roundup style summary with quick hit editorial opinions is a great way to give you some quickly digestible information.

Some folks might argue that there is no reason to buy packing cubes from brands, but I’d feel pretty confident in countering that. I do support the idea of spending on the bag, not the packing cubes, however, and for the most part I do not go crazy buying “expensive” cubes but do appreciate different brands’ takes on them. (I use quotes because no one really puts out too-expensive cubes - it’s a terrible product decision and they understand there is a ceiling for what people will pay). In this space the bag companies tend to be fabric and design magicians so it’s cool to see what their takes are. Another thing is sometimes the cubes made by a brand fit their own bags better than other cubes do. That’s a thing.

I also like the idea of being supportive of brands you love. You love a brand’s bag and like what the company is doing? Then hey, buy their cubes. I can get with that line of thinking too!

With that put out there, let’s just get into the list of a few of the best packing cubes by boutique brands in 2025.

Evergoods

First up are the Evergoods cubes. We’ll have to put these in the premium category as they sell them as individual pieces. These cubes come in 8L and are quite possibly the most durable on this list. They are made from a beefy 210D Nylon 6.6 as it’s called. But, these have some very considered, Evergoods-typical, design decisions, too. The two sided, suit-case style allows them to kind of act like 2 cubes each. They are the only cubes on this list with an external slip pocket. And the zipper flap system is offset below the outside zipper, which acts as a natural compression function without having to add more fabric and zippers like many cubes. Clever. After I purchased these, they did also release a bigger sibling to these, that has some nice looking design choices, as well. Evergoods makes these to fit perfectly in all their various bags so if you like that, and you like Evergoods, these are a must try. One of mine is the ‘hot’ orange color and as you can see, that thing is nuclear.

Bellroy

Bellroy doing typically Bellroy-ish things with their cubes release. The Lite series is their take on the mainstay accessory. These top-opening only cubes are good for gear or clothing obviously, and they won't weigh you down with their choice of 90% recycled nylon from their fabric wizard factory. The top opening will be a love it or dislike it kind of thing, I predict, but these have a great choice of sizes and they make packing Bellroy’s, or anyone’s, bag pretty easy. I’d like to see these come as a set, though you can get 15% off if you bundle three in the same purchase. They are pretty basic, but do reflect Bellroy’s typical quality.

Peak Design Ultralight Cubes

Peak Design is using some great material on these, to make sure us techie folks are satisfied, but also to get possibly the lightest cubes on this list. Called Ultralight Terra Shell 50D, it’s recycled and Blue Sign certified. These are top loaders so how you feel about that will play into how much you’d like these. If you’re a roller (which for most things outside button up shirts, I am) this kind of thing works totally fine. They also offer a mesh version, and additionally have the biggest range of colors on this list. Great colors, I might add. Bottom line if you’re looking for cubes and organization, but also want ultralight, these might be your huckleberry. These are not cheap, but tech fabric never usually is. I will say they have Peak’s very typical high-quality build. If you bundle multiple cubes, they knock the price down.

Aer

Next up I’ve got a cube from Aer, in my favorite “orange” color. First thing first, of the orange cubes and tech pouches I’ve had - this is the best orange. It’s bright without being blinding. So it’s got that going for it. Made of 100D Cordura, these are also Blue Sign approved and rip stop. These are some of the few “clam shell” opening cubes on our list, and resemble the original Peak Design cubes in design and function. While these aren’t particularly “blow your mind” in the tech fabric department or feature set, they do have a solid compression system that many cubes have now. While I’m not sure if I’d go out of my way for these, if I was Aer-loyal or wanted an orange cube that was a reasonable score on the eye-searing scale, I’d definitely pick one of these up. Subdued doesn’t mean bad - these are typical Aer quality and well made with super durable materials. I’ll also note that the shape of these is quite versatile from the standpoint of fitting in many different types of bags. So they score points there.

Heimplanet

Based in Germany, and makers of some extremely tech forward camping gear as well OUTSTANDING backpacks - you don’t see their cubes on too many lists here in the States. That said if you watch Pack Hacker, you might notice them in a lot of their backpack vids as these seem to be their cubes of choice for a lot of content. With good reason. They look like they are from the future but are also crazy lightweight. On par with the Peak Design from earlier. Made almost entirely of polyester, these also come with a nice DWR coating to help prevent them from being penetrated by water if you get stuck out in some weather. Understated, but typically functional as I expect from this brand, you’re going to get super sustainable manufacturing considerations from Heimplanet, and just a well made product. Top opening cubes, no compression. One benefit here is that since they are a German brand - it means they sell on Amazon here. That’s easier for you to buy or return if you’re in the States and just an easier buying process overall. Note - you may have seen these often in one of the well known YouTube channels’ reviews. Seems to be the “house” cubes they use for bag reviews. I’d imagine because they look slick!

Final Thoughts On My Best Branded Packing Cubes List

There we go - our continuation in our extended packing cubes series. I thought it was a good idea to just highlight some of my favorite branded cubes that are out there, after all I do get to come across a lot of variety.

Remember, I do not think it’s a necessity to get the expensive, branded ones. I’m a supporter of “spend on the bag, not the cubes”. That said, they are no doubt better made, with more interesting materials, and if you happen to be “all Evergoods Everything” - then I definitely get it. Go for your brand!
